Agricultural Trade Show - May

Finally getting around to posting photos - the Agricultural Trade Show happened in May. Yeah, I know it's a little late...just now catching up on the photos I took these last few months. I had originally envisioned the trade show as similar to the stock and rodeo shows in the States, but, as usual, I entered into the experience with my American expectations. As I walked the show grounds, I was reminded again of the intensity of the sun and heat. I knew that I couldn't take an all day outing here. The place was flowing with people among the food booths and the carnival rides. I bumped into Mr. Dawson, the NAVCO prez, who had his family booth selling rice and beans and chicken. To take a rest and give him business, I sat with his wife and kids, watching people. Here, families set up their makeshiftt tables and grills to cook and sell a food plate mostly consisting of stewed or barbecue chicken, rice and beans and some kind of salad, potato or cold slaw.
After eating, resting, I meandered through the grounds to see what else was out there. The section promoting the produce and the fisheries was of great interest.

The livestock was nothing like the States but I did find an interesting subject to photograph. Now, that's the way to spend an afternoon...
